Homoeopathy is a holistic system of medicine based on the principle of “Similia Similibus Curentur” — like cures like. It focuses on treating the individual as a whole rather than merely addressing disease symptoms. Homoeopathy stimulates the body’s natural healing mechanisms using highly diluted, natural substances that are safe, gentle, and effective. Recognized by the Government of India and regulated by the National Commission for Homoeopathy homoeopathy is widely practiced across the country and integrated into the national healthcare system. It emphasizes personalized treatment, preventive care, and long-term wellness, making it suitable for people of all age groups. Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) The Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) is a professional undergraduate degree designed to train students in the scientific principles, clinical practice, and ethical foundations of homoeopathy.

Course Duration

  • 5½ years total
  • 4½ years of academic study
  • 1 year of compulsory rotating internship

Curriculum Overview

The BHMS curriculum is structured as per Competency Based Dynamic Curriculum under NCH guidelines and includes:

  • Homoeopathic subjects such as Organon of Medicine, Materia Medica, Repertory, and Homoeopathic Pharmacy
  • Pre-clinical and para-clinical subjects including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, and Forensic Medicine
  • Clinical subjects such as Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, and Community Medicine
  • Extensive clinical exposure through teaching hospitals
